The Nextronic DNS-DVA system is a fully integrated Voice Alarm and Public Address unit, specifically

designed in compliance with BS5839 pt 8, to provide

simple and effective, life safety evacuation in buildings.

A distributed system uses the type DNS-DVA unit,

connected to a local, dual circuit, loudspeaker distribution. The unit is self contained and wall mounted,

incorporating all the elements of a single zone Voice Alarm system. The DNS-DVA module provides all the audio control, monitoring and dual circuit amplification for the Fire Zone. The unit also contains the main DC, battery backup and charging for the system.

The unit is extremely compact and lightweight, with

dimensions no larger than a standard Fire Detection panel. It is easily mountable on to a wall, without needing several people to lift it! Typically the DNS-DVA unit would be mounted next to a Fire Detection panel, and interfaced directly with locally monitored contacts.

The system can comprise of a single 'stand alone' unit, however this may easily be expanded into a large

distributed system, comprising many units connected via a data network. The system arrangement is of very high integrity, since each unit can operate as a Voice Alarm system, completely independent of other units in the

network. The serial data network between units provides global control, and ensures synchronization of Alarm broadcasts.

Unlike many other self-contained VA system units, this fully complies with the BS5839 pt8 requirements. The standard requires that there be two independently

amplified loudspeaker circuits, and also a hot standby amplifier, to automatically take over in case of fault.
